Numancia DH to travel to Vigo to play the Champions Cup

The competition will take place from May 6th to 11th in the Galician city

C.D. Numancia DH will play in the XXV Youth Champions Cup (Copa de Campeones Juvenil) after winning the Group II championship in the División de Honor. Vigo is to be the host city for this tournament, that will take place from May 6th to 11th and will be played at Celta de Vigo’s A Madroa ‘Sports City’ training ground. This is the first time in their history that the Rojillos are taking part and the youngsters are excited and confident of making their mark on the tournament, after winning the championship and qualifying also for the Copa del Rey.

The Spanish Football Federation has chosen Real Club Celta de Vigo and the Federación Gallega de Fútbol from among the candidates to host this important youth tournament. Numancia will go into the draw along with Real Zaragoza, Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid, Tenerife, Sevilla, Celta and Villarreal.

The competition will start on Monday May 6th, and games are scheduled as follows:

-Monday May 6th: quarter-finals.

-Wednesday May 8th: semi-finals.

-Saturday May 11th: final.

The pairings will be made in the coming days and Numancia will find out who they have to face in the first round.

Pablo Ayuso’s youngsters are going into this competition with their hopes high, having played an excellent season. This is a tournament that gives the winners the opportunity to play in the Youth League, which is the junior version of the Champions League, a European competition that brings together the best teams from all over the continent.
